Data stored on device
Portion stores food names, amounts ordered or served, amounts eaten, user-entered units, appetite-fit judgments, optional appetite context, notes, unfinished meals, and local form drafts on your device.
Effective July 22, 2026. Portion is local-first. Your food and meal history stays on your device.
Portion has no account, backend, or cloud sync, and does not run ads, analytics, or tracking. Meal records, drafts, and optional finish reminders stay local to your device.
Portion stores food names, amounts ordered or served, amounts eaten, user-entered units, appetite-fit judgments, optional appetite context, notes, unfinished meals, and local form drafts on your device.
Portion does not require an account and does not use a custom backend or cloud-sync service. Your food and meal history is not sent to a Portion server.
If you choose a finish reminder and grant permission, Portion schedules one non-repeating notification locally on your device. The notification is generic and does not include the food name. iOS manages permission and delivery.
Portion does not include developer analytics, advertising SDKs, advertising identifiers, or cross-app tracking. Apple may provide diagnostics if you choose to share them with developers in your device settings.
The current launch build requests notification permission only when you choose a finish reminder. It does not request location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, HealthKit, nutrition, or payment data.
Your Apple device-backup settings may include Portion’s local app container in an Apple-managed backup. Portion does not operate, access, or provide cloud sync for that backup.
You can delete individual meals or a food and its history. Delete local data in Settings removes all food and meal records, unfinished drafts, reminder preferences, and Portion reminders from the device. Deleting the app also removes its local container.
If you email support, the information you choose to include is used only to understand and respond to your request.
